The Poetry of Michael Langston

(44) THIS DAY

She seemed to care, to want to stay;
  I had no doubts nor fears
That love would ever go astray,
  That she would not be near.

I watched her turn and walk away,
  And through a blur of tears,
I wait for time to turn this day
  To weeks, to months, to years.
