P O E T I C S The Poetry of Michael Langston (39) MY BELOVED ONE I saw her from afar one day, Beautiful and radiant in the glowing sun. Unseen I ran along my way, Unknown to my beloved one. The sun shone bright upon her hair, Upon her flowing silken dress And touched her face, a face so fair, With a soft and warm caress. Unheard I whispered, went round a bend, And left behind where I had run The words, I love you, in the wind, Unheard by my beloved one.
